Champions Before & After School Care Still Enrolling

A new before and after school program, Champions, provides flexibility to Crittenden County parents in need of childcare services. Hosted at Crittenden County Elementary School, Champions offers a structured learning and play environment for children enrolled at CCES in grades preschool through fifth. 

Talented and nurturing teachers provide STEM skills exploration, inside and outside play, and assistance with homework, allowing parents who may need to be at work earlier or who get off work after the school day ends, the flexibility needed to navigate challenging schedules.

The center operates weekdays from 6:30 to 8 am in the mornings, and until 6:30 p.m. after school. On Fridays, the center is open 6:30 am to 6:30 pm for preschool students. Site Director Essance McGuire said a variety of financial assistance options also are available.

“Some families may qualify for tuition rates as low as $20 a week,” she said.
